Cognitive Dynamism – A Path to Understanding Self
What do you associate with psychological safety in the workplace? For many, it is synonymous with feeling excluded by colleagues, being afraid to ask a question or facing retaliation for challenging the way things are. Fewer of us think about psychological safety through the lens of ourselves. And in particular about how we contribute to others psychological safety. If the idea that you contribute to psychological safety sounds counter-intuitive, I invite you to keep reading.
Organizations are systems of people. Yes, we are all brought together to accomplish something for the companies we serve, and this is typically how we are measured. Yet if we truly stopped to pay attention, the achievement of those goals are only made possible through the collaboration of people. How we collaborate has everything to do with what we accomplish. The word collaboration suggests more than one. What we have learned is that when individuals take a moment to recognize their own role in collaboration, new insight can emerge.
The goal of Cognitive Dynamism is to open a new window into self. When there is no one telling us how we impact them or when we won’t let others know how they impact us, our organizations suffer – as do we. With Cognitive Dynamism, you learn to understand what may not be intuitive and the goal is that you will lean into the part so you that are hidden so you might be aware of how you impact the psychological safety of others.
We are happy to have you on this journey.
