Self-awareness

Self-awareness is defined as the mindful consciousness of your strengths, weaknesses, actions and presence. It also requires having clear insight of your emotional and psychological states.

Self-awareness is important because it helps you to be in touch with your wants and needs and opens up the space to see yourself distinctly and fairly through self-examination and introspection. Based on life experiences, behaviors, attitudes and beliefs, understanding who you are and why you do the things that you do is not always simple. In order to figure out how you truly see yourself, some self-reflection questions to ponder include:

  • What are your strengths and superpowers?
  • What are your weaknesses and areas of opportunities?
  • When do you feel most productive?
  • What are your biggest challenges and fears?
  • How would you describe yourself?
  • On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being excellent, how would you rate your self-confidence and esteem? 
  • What is most important to you?
  • What is a single habit that would significantly improve your life?
  • What is your definition of success?
  • How would you like people to remember you?

Developing deeper self-awareness leads to a purposeful life that is rewarding and transformative.
